The week in both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape is heralded by another set of granular updates to both of Jagex’s MMORPGs, headlined by a graphical update for the former and some tweaks to major weapon rewards for the latter.

RuneScape players are waking up to a prettier Kandarin area, with new lighting and extensive tarraforming, some new grass to touch (digitally of course), and an imposing mountain range in the area’s skyline. The latest patch notes otherwise point out some more adjustments to the Vorkath & Zemouregal encounter and a long list of general updates and fixes across the board.

The big news out of OSRS this week is a series of adjustments to the Osmumten’s Fang and Scythe of Vitur weapons, with a bit of a nerfing and a change to the stab damage type for the Fang and several targeted buffs for the Scythe. The game’s weekly newsletter otherwise talks up giveaways for this weekend’s Winter Summit broadcast and other general gameplay adjustments made in the latest patch.
