If you assume that the word “supercruise” in Elite: Dangerous means “something that makes your ship go fast,” you’d be correct. But what if you could make your ship go faster? That question is now answerable thanks to the sandbox’s most recent patch, which has introduced a supercruise overcharge function for players to make use of.
This new module is available only for C-rated frame drives and found at some of the more technologically advanced locations around the galaxy, but it looks like it does precisely what one would assume, granting ships fielding the module a significant boost while in supercruise. However, as one Redditor demonstrates, engaging the feature comes at a significant cost in terms of fuel usage and ship heat, so use wisely, if at all.
The rest of the patch notes outline another list of updates that address issues with Thargoid Titans and other Thargoid ships, fix some minor graphical weirdness, and squashes a bug that directed restore or reboot base missions to locations that were already fully functional.
