Little Orbit CEO Matthew Scott continues to remain the primary source of internal comms for APB Reloaded, as he took up player questions and answered them, which has since been summarized in an AMA recap from the studio. Here are some of the highlights:
- Updating matchmaking remains a high priority for the studio, though Scott admits that there are some problems in its current iteration; specifically the team is looking into moving the system to its own server and addressing problems with high MMR player matchups.
- Server merging will not happen owing to internal test issues; matchmaking is intended as the best way to get players together since it draws from different game worlds and different regions.
- Balance adjustments are on the table, as are more items to the Joker Store. Scott does admit that finding a balance between matchmaking updates and balance updates is hard.
- Better tutorials are being considered, including adding PvE elements in order to better teach players how to play APB Reloaded’s mechanics.
- Console versions when? Later, once the old console versions are fully shuttered in September; no timeline on when.
Finally, Scott provided a small update about Fallen Earth’s return, noting that while backend work is mostly done, the game’s servers are running on an OS that is no longer supported and have problems with manual restarts that need to be addressed.
