V Rising takes down its servers today in preparation for this week’s launch

As vampire survival game V Rising flaps its wings and flies toward this week’s 1.0 launch on the PC, Stunlock Studios has taken down all of the game’s early access servers for some preparation and reorganization.

When the official servers come back up on May 8th for Update 1.0, they will feature new difficulty settings and an expiration date before these shards reset. That’s because, as the devs said, “These official servers are not meant to be your home forever […] Ultimately we expect players to move on to private servers with more tailored gameplay after they’ve got their vampire legs under them.”

The new difficulty settings include relaxed, normal, and brutal modes.

Stunlock Studios also reminded players that because of the new version of the game, players will either need to start over with a fresh save or be content to play on an older and stagnated Steam branch of the game on private servers.
