The jury is still out whether or not “MultiVersus” is a clever title, but either way, Warner Bros. popular team battler finally slugged its way out of a strange beta journey and into a full-on release this week.

MultiVersus re-launched on Tuesday across several platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC with full cross-play and cross-progression. The release coincides with Season 1: Puns & Villainy, which adds The Joker, Jason Voorhees, Banana Guard, and Agent Smith to the game’s roster as well as a new PvE mode called Rifts that features boss fights and minigames.

Warner Bros.’ brawler made huge waves when it first came onto the scene back in July 2022 with over 20 million players flooding into the game in the first month alone. Two seasons were rolled out and many microtransactions sold before the studio unexpectedly yanked the beta offline last summer for over nine months for an extensive rework.
