Diablo Immortal breaks down the design of its new Tempest class

With last week’s release of the new Tempest class to Diablo Immortal, Blizzard is taking a bit of a victory lap and deep dive in its latest video, which outlines how the devs of the mobile OARPG created the character.

The video takes fans through the overall journey of the Tempest, from its conceptualization to lore to design. In general, the Tempest was spawned from the team’s desire to make something more light-themed and agile after releasing the more brooding, dark, and heavily armored Blood Knight, with a emphasis on a more flowing “magic assassin” playstyle as the class’ name would suggest.

For those curious about how the Tempest came to be, the video below grants some insight. Meanwhile, the game itself has recently released a bug-squashing patch that addresses issues with the Tempest’s opening story, enemy spawns, login errors, and other problems.
