Final Fantasy XIV’s latest expansion, Dawntrail, is weathering its first day of early access. And as with all weather, there are sunny patches and nasty downpours. Probably the worst (if most predictable) problem area that’s arisen are the queues from the crush of players, which may stretch from a small handful of people to several thousand.
Earlier this morning, the studio said, “We are currently ensuring the stability of the login server and logins are being proceeded in order. While the login server is busy, we can confirm that queues are progressing smoothly. Thank you for your patience.”
Square-Enix also acknowledged that there were a few Day One issues that popped up and required intervention. These include some malfunctioning ice-related mechanics, a minor problem with chat, and some freezing on Xbox.
The studio also reported, “We are pleased to announce that the technical difficulty upon returning to you Home World using the Data Center Travel Feature preventing players from returning in the North American and European Data Centers has been recovered.”
