Funcom says Conan Exiles’ dev cadence isn’t impacted by Dune Awakening

Last month saw Conan Exiles do something that seems to be anathema for most MMOs and multiplyer titles: It decided to stop making battle passes starting with its next Age and confirmed plans to reel back its content cadence in the interest of making higher quality releases. Naturally, this brought up several questions from the survivalbox’s community, some of which were answered by senior community manager Andy Benditt in a recent video.

Benditt first confirms that items from previous battle passes will indeed come back sometime in the future. Details on just how that will happen haven’t been ironed out, but he promises that players will be informed as soon as Funcom has answered that question itself. Benditt then confirms that players can look forward to new events, including brand new things to do and revamps of familiar events.

The final question asked whether development of Dune: Awakening was having an effect on Conan Exiles. Here Benditt says that each survivalbox has its own dedicated development team, that Funcom isn’t scaling back one team in favor of shoring up another team, and even confirms that Exiles got some new hires; the slowed content cadence is meant to ensure future updates are appropriately polished. Benditt finally closes with word that information about Exiles’ next Age will arrive this August.
