While Dragonflight proved to be a turning point for World of Warcraft after two expansions of downward trajectory, Blizzard Vice President Holly Longdale says that the studio still has a lot of work ahead to reclaim lost ground and lost respect with the game’s community.
“I think we should have listened more to the player base,” Longdale said in an interview with PC Gamer this past week. She said that the studio’s been leveraging social media more to identify pain points in the game and better tech tools to verify where those issues are in WoW.
Longdale also vowed that the studio is committed to faster content production than in pre-Dragonflight expansions: “It took longer to make the content than we would’ve liked. We remained committed to get it out there, but it wasn’t enough, and it wasn’t the right stuff. And we looked at that very deeply and we still do to use it as guidance for where we’re going.”
