Aion Classic EU has been cranking out updates all year – and it’s got at least one more in store for 2024. Gameforge announced today that update 2.8.5, aka Dominance, is the game’s next major content update, rolling out “later this year.”

“There is something for everyone in this update, as Dominance brings both new PvP and PvE content,” the studio says. “Players who have reached the new max level of 58 will enjoy new instances and high-level rewards.”

The preview notes a new PvP battle map – Apheta Beluslan Fortress – as well as new new instances. The Wall of Lament and Tartarus dungeons are both aimed at four-person groups level 58 and up.

Wall of Lament: Enter this challenging 4-person dungeon to uncover powerful PvE weapons. Strong teamwork and strategic play are required to defeat Doomed Samael and succeed in the Wall of Lament. After being doomed to die in Telos, Samael was pulled from the past due to Tiamat’s time-bending experiments. Brainwashed by Tiamat, Doomed Samael now represents a major foe and strong antagonist for players to take on.

Tartarus: Team up to explore the treacherous depths of Tartarus, diving deeper to claim relic rewards. The occupying faction of Apheta Beluslan Fortress gains free access, while the opposing faction needs to purchase entry items. Tartarus can be entered once a week in groups of two to six players.

We don’t have a hard date yet, except for the fact that it’ll be out in 2024, so stay tuned.
