Lord of the Rings Online’s devs tease ‘so many plans’ for player housing

Back in early August, Lord of the Rings Online fan site Deco du Milieu hosted a player housing Q&A with members of Standing Stone Games’ dev team. Now that it’s been a few weeks, the site’s operators have had the time to format and package the Q&A session for the general public.

As might be expected, a bulk of this Q&A are fans asking for features, changes, or additions that the studio doesn’t want to commit to doing at present. Interestingly, an Umbar-located houseboat was investigated at one point. In any case, SSG did tease future possibilities as it has “so many plans” for the system, including Rivendell Elf housing (a project that is currently on hold due to work for the fall expansion).

“In the end, we want players to make their mark in the world we created by having their own personal space in Middle-earth,” the studio said. “Would that mean open world housing? No, but the Test Estate is the beginning of the direction we want to go, and checking it out on Bullroarer can give you hints about the future we have planned for housing.”
