Wuthering Waves fans probably already know about the character of Xiangli Yao, but now they get to see a bit more of him in action and learn a little bit about his background thanks to a new trailer as he unlocks and becomes playable in the multiplayer RPG’s latest update out tomorrow, September 7th.
“Xiangli Yao, the principal investigator at the Huaxu Academy who is widely respected within his community and is a caring character and model student, beginning every conversation with a cup of tea. Always responding with a smile, acknowledging the path his devoted parents have paved for him while embarking upon his own journey.”
Xiangli brings a robotic arm to bear in combat, which has a few different abilities including firing lasers, turning into a plasma sword, or just letting him punch the absolute stuffing out of foes.
Players were able to unlock the character during an ongoing special in-game event, but soon they’ll be able to actually use the roster arrival directly, while those who haven’t met the prerequisites for that event will have to try their luck in a boosted drop rate banner for him and several other characters, along with a separate boost to earn his weapon and several others.
