As promised, the prototype beta for Guild Wars 2’s new PvP mode, Push, is kicking off this afternoon, open to everyone as of 3 p.m. EDT today through 8 p.m. EDT on September 23rd. The goal of the event is to test a “more accessible and enjoyable PvP experience without sacrificing competition” in the 5v5 format.
“Please keep in mind that since this is a beta test, there will be placeholder UI, art, and audio. During this beta event, the Push mode will replace ranked queue and will use the standard miniseason 2v2 rewards. You’ll be able to access the Push mode through the PvP browser and custom arena maps. We will be gathering feedback to help gauge how the Push mode fits not only our goals, but also player experience and expectation.”
Meanwhile, ArenaNet heard y’all liked plushies, so they got you all the damn plushies – in the cash shop, that is. Hey, you knew this was gonna be a whole thing the first minute the devs announced housing. “Our first homestead package includes the Plush Quaggan Pal, Plush Choya Pal, Plush Bird Pal, and Plush Bear Head Pal,” says the studio.
