Halloween festivities across the MMO world, 2024 edition

It’s weird we keep meeting like this every single year a week before October 31st, right? A strange and unusual coincidence, perhaps even a conspiracy? Wait… wait I’m hearing that Halloween does in fact happen every year, so yeah, never mind. The deluge of MMORPG events every October does makes sense now. That’s on me.

Join us for our annual roundup of some of the Halloween events for MMORPGs and MMO-adjacent games we’ve been covering so far this season!

And a few more we haven’t covered separately yet:

  • ARK Survival Ascended is bringing back Fear Ascended and launching new themed paid mods.
  • Monster Hunter Now opened its Halloween event through the 31st, so you have just a week left!
  • Realm of the Mad God’s Halloween Event is live with hordes of zombies and costume drops.
  • Nexon’s Dungeon Fighter Online has not one but three Halloween events, including one called… Spooky Juicy Craft?
  • Eterspire has added a Halloween-themed puzzle quest stuffed with “creepy storytelling and worldbuilding.”
  • SCUM actually has a Halloween event, which amuses me no end. “Drop onto a terrifying island of scares, shocks and thrills with SCUM’s horrifying Halloween event, The Sacrifice.”
  • Battlefield 2042 invites you to the Circle of Hell! Sounds nice.
  • Crossout launched Steel Troopers in celebration of the season. “The update brings a set of special modes where players can earn “tricky treats” and spend them on cosmetic items and parts for armored vehicles.”
  • Something Wicket This Way Comes (hehe) has returned to the classic SWG Emu!
  • Sky Children of the Light? More like Sky Children of the Night, thanks to the kick off of Days of Mischief.

We also did a few streams and guides for Halloween this year (with more on deck as I type this):

Let us know if we missed anything – we’ll continue adding to this list over the next week!
