Pax Dei outlines changes to gathering, crafting, and looting coming in November 5’s Proving Grounds update

Pax Dei has about a week and a half left to go before its Proving Grounds update goes live, and while the biggest features are obviously the PvE and geographical changes, developer Mainframe Industries wants players to know about some comparatively smaller but no less important updates that are also coming with the patch.

Beginning with crafting updates, Mainframe reiterates that resource nodes will be relocated based on the map changes, but the studio makes it a point to state that iron nodes will mostly still be found in the Lyonesse FFA PvP zone. Other crafting changes include more “logical” unlocking for recipes, adjustments to certain craftable items to make them easier, and a couple of new building pieces.

On the gathering resources front, players will now simply click on a resource once to gather, see their gathering proficiency impact how fast a node is harvested, and get access to a new skinning skill that eventually improves the quality of hides gathered from creatures.

Finally, there are some changes to loot rules coming: When an NPC dies, loot permissions will be assigned based on the players or party who inflicted the most damage, and if an NPC is left unlooted for five minutes, it will become open loot for everyone. These changes apply only to PvE play; Lyonesse will remain a full-loot PvP zone.

Other smaller updates coming with the patch include changes to clan permissions, new magic gear, and some updated visuals for several gear pieces. Full patch notes are expected on the day of the update in the game’s Discord.
