Vampire survivalbox V Rising has been fairly quiet since its official launch last spring (which we loved); Stunlock Studios even told players in June that it was taking a breather before diving into the 1.1 update. Today’s dev blog, however, reveals that the team is now back to work and “well underway” in building the next big patch.
“Version 1.1 will focus more on expanding rather than altering the core experience, giving you more of what you already enjoy, along with a few exciting surprises,” Stunlock says. Notably, the team is introducing a feature dubbed the “Fusion Forge,” which effectively allows you to combine gear drops and turn them into something perfect for your build – instead of relying on RNG.
The devs are also working on unique appearances for endgame weapons, a dueling system, and player-built PvP arenas. Fun fact: Stunlock says that only 20% of players have ever died in PvP in the game, drawing the conclusion that a “a huge portion of the community has yet to experience the thrill of it.” Of course, a lot of people have experienced that so-called thrill in other games and just aren’t interested, but perhaps the team is right that some players would participate more if it weren’t as risky – hence the introduction of duels and arenas.
Finally, Stunlock teases a new region and “invading faction of enemies” north of Silverlight, though it gives no other details.
