Sea of Thieves’ community weekend event promises treats and tricks starting November 23

Now that the stormy seas of Season 14’s launch are behind it, Sea of Thieves can get back to the proper business of celebrating its community and making mischief at the same time. Provided you’re not one of those who have committed the crime of enjoying the game in PvE, anyway. That’s because starting this Saturday, November 23rd, the sandbox will kick off another community weekend event.

As before, this event will primarily focus on inflating Twitch viewership numbers by encouraging fans to tune in to Twitch streamers to raise a buff-granting community emissary grade, which will offer boosts to gold, rep, and renown for players who are in High Seas PvP mode. Players are also being promised Twitch Drops for tuning in to streams as well.

Of course, it’s not just about streamers, as the event will offer up a new free flag for players to collect, grant a unique hat to nominated fans who encapsulate the game’s communal ideal, and grant every player access to an Athena’s Fortune raid or sea fort voyage three times during the weekend whether they’re at pirate legend rank or not.

There will also be some sneaky things happening in the spirit of the season of mischief, like more gunpowder barrels appearing around the game and pop-up plunder maps that have decoy dig spots. The devs at Rare Ltd. have also tapped into their mischievous side in meatspace by sneaking around in a barrel. Sure, why not.
