Fans of Apple TV+’s popular Mythic Quest are no doubt disappointed to hear that the comedy was abruptly canceled following its Season 4 finale last month. The show followed the trials and hijinks of an MMORPG studio as it dealt with players, politics, and competition. It also spawned a four-episode series called Side Quest that also aired in March.
“Endings are hard,” said the show’s creative team following Apple’s announcement. “We’re so proud of the show and the world we got to build—and deeply grateful to every cast and crew member who poured their heart into it.”
Fans of the series poured out their grief and frustration at the news in a huge Reddit thread. “I’m honestly so sad about this. this has been one of my go-to comfort shows even when all the characters are being terrible people to each other,” one viewer wrote.
The only silver lining here is that Apple is re-releasing the final episode in April with an updated ending to help wrap up the series and not leave everything hanging on a cliffhanger.
