ARKitechts, rejoice — ARK’s Homestead update went live yesterday, and it brought with it some vast improvements to structure placement options as well as a slew of new construction pieces to help make your dream dwellings a reality. New triangular foundations, ceilings, and roofs provide new possibilities for unique building layouts, and players who want to ensure their strongholds are safe and sound can find sanctuary behind the new quadruple-height wall structures.
There are new options when it comes to irrigation and electrical configuration as well, thanks to the new flexible pipes and electrical cables. And pre-existing structures aren’t being left out, either, as the update has also added new visual variants for existing buildings.
The Homestead update isn’t all about architecture, though; it also revamped the game’s kibble system to make it simpler and more straightforward for would-be animal tamers. No longer will players have to manage over 50 different types of kibble. Under the new system, kibble is no longer creature-specific; instead, “each creature now falls into one of six categories, and that creature’s egg can be used to tame any creature within that [creature’s] category.”
You can check out the update for yourself in-game right now, but if you’d like to take a quick peek at what it has in store, you can check out the official release trailer just below.
