Project Gorgon previews its new War Cache dungeon feature in latest developer blog

Oh, I get it.

Some brand-new level-50 content is coming to Project Gorgon in the form of War Caches, a new feature coming in the game’s next update. The premise goes like this: The Ilmari desert was once the site of a massive war in which the Crone Hegemony built massive bunkers that are now buried deep beneath the desert sands, though the regional windstorms occasionally unearth them. Sir Johnson in Amulna is looking for adventurers to venture into these temporarily accessible bunkers in search of “a special metal that was often left behind.”

As far as the mechanics of the system are concerned, players will accept War Cache quests from Sir Johnson, who will provide them with a treasure map that leads to the entrance of one of these bunkers, which are described as “mini-dungeons” that are designed to take about 15 minutes to complete, and successfully completing War Cache quests will reward players with loot as well as a voucher that can be redeemed for equipment, which should make it a little easier for fresh level-50 players to get geared up.

There is a small catch, however: Should you leave the dungeon for any reason, including death, you will fail the quest. You can still abandon the quest and pick up a new one if this happens, but you probably won’t get sent to the same dungeon. Also, interestingly enough, although these dungeons are designed as solo content, they’re not instanced, so it’s completely possible that you’ll get sent to the same dungeon as another player, providing the possibility for impromptu group-ups.

Our own Mia DeSanzo toured Project Gorgon just this past weekend in her brand-new MMO Cartographer column.
