One of the big Kickstarter MMO hits from 2019 was Zenith, which leaped onto the scene and raised over a quarter of a million dollars. Its tiny indie studio, Ramen, sought $25K, alongside its outside investment, for a sandboxy cyberpunk MMO “inspired by anime and JRPG classics and reimagined as a dynamic living world with cross-play between VR platforms and PC,” a “futuristic universe in which players will fight, craft, explore, and live as they forge alliances and friendships in guilds and parties.” It was a few months delayed heading into pre-alpha, but it landed there back in March.
Most recently, Ramen has released a video and a clip showcasing where the game stands. First up, the footage of the game so far. “You can see a few key features in here, including movement, physical combat, and a stagger gauge,” the devs write.
Check out this pre-alpha footage taken on the Eastern Plains! (The UI/UX are not final at all.) You can see a few key features in here, including movement, physical combat, and a stagger gauge. We're looking forward to doing more reveals like this soon! ✨https://t.co/JnIJ4y9uJf

According to the dev video, Ramen has brought in new dev team members (so it’s not just a three-person team anymore), it’s set the game up for SteamVR and Oculus Quest, and it’s planning to wind down the pre-alpha by the end of May and push onward to alpha.
