WRUP: Absolutely the final WRUP ever (we mean it really seriously) edition

Bye

Well, folks, it’s been a lot of fun doing all of these columns. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve done that thing where we laugh really hard until we end up crying and it’s very sad as the credits fade in because it’s a very special episode in which a character dies. But all things have to come to an end, and ultimately, I’m just kind of bored and don’t feel like bothering, so we’re going to be rerunning the Acceptable Best-Ish-Of-What-Are-You-Playing for the next few weeks until I’m pretty sure no one is going to notice.

What? Yes, I’m serious. I’m entirely serious and this is very much a real thing without any sarcasm. This is the series finale. Oh, and everyone dies and then comes back to life, that’s how the plot wraps up, I guess. I don’t care any more. Don’t bother me.

Bonus question: What dish are you best at cooking at home?

Andy McAdams: I’ll be playing more World of Warcraft and Satisfactory. I picked it up over the holidays and I was hooked. It’s so. very. addicting.

Cooking – I cook lots of things (we do a meal delivery service) but I wouldn’t say there’s anything I’m “best” at cooking. Maybe baking homemade, hand-kneaded bread? I think I’m kind of okay at that.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Gonna be working on the new house for a few more weeks at minimum, but I managed to sneak into Star Wars Galaxies Legends this week and will likely take a break to play more this weekend too. I had a lot of vendor restocking to do, fam!

Have you ever noticed that a lot of Eliot’s bonus questions are about food? He’s trying to make us all hungry, I swear. I’m not much of a cook, but my homemade cookies are the best!

(And no, Eliot’s not serious. You think we’d cancel WRUP? This is one of the most chill and fun things we get to do with the community. :P)

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): Watching Carlo stream his Nova in Black Desert has inspired me to try and get back on that horse, but otherwise it’s likely another weekend of Elite Dangerous and Final Fantasy XIV.

I have a number of foods I consider to be something of my specialty, but one of my favorites is chicken karaage. It’s super easy to make and extremely tasty!

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Some low-key FFXIV ahead of the upcoming final bit of Ishgard Restoration, maybe some other single-player stuff over the weekend. Not quite sure about that yet.

I’ve actually been doing really well with my venison burgers lately; the local grocery store has venison in stock, which is intensely flavorful and delicious when cooked up right with a bit of cheese and sauce. Burgers in genera wind up being my area of expertise.

Mia DeSanzo (@neschria): If I have time, I will be playing No Man’s Sky, Rise to Ruins, Rimworld, and/or Black Desert. If not, I will be playing catch up on housework. Not really a fan of CUOH, but sometimes you just have to play that game.

I am a good cook in general, but it seems my top crowd-pleaser is fried chicken. I have also mastered cooking an eye of round roast into something tender and delicious, which is great because it is a cheap cut of beef.

Sam Kash (@thesamkash): I’ll be pretty light on gaming this weekend. I did start to play Ikenfell which is a fantastic old school style RPG set in a wizarding world. It’s very fun.

I can’t cook. Although I do fry a mean hotdog.

Tyler Edwards (blog): I’ve got a playtest for another of my game design projects on Sunday. Other than that, continuing with Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and Wolcen.

Bonus question: I’ve been getting a lot more into cooking lately, and I’ve developed a few dishes I’m pretty proud of. The best might be my paprika roasted veggies and tofu on rice? Or maybe the seitan wraps with creamy/spicy lime sauce?

Pierre, patron: I stopped playing Cyberpunk 2077 as even if it’s a good game, I feel the same boredom as when I tried to play The Witcher 3 (I don’t know why these CDPR RPGs bore me so fast). The universe doesn’t feel alive, and the numerous small non-blocking bugs constantly damaging the immersion are not helping. Instead, I started Horizon: Zero Dawn on PS4 again, and I’m enjoying it again. Such a great game, and not boring at all. No MMO for me this week. I’m still on an MMO hiatus that I can’t really explain.

Bonus question: I’m the world champion of quiche lorraine, a traditional French quiche that I manage to cook perfectly; no bragging here, I spent multiple years perfecting the recipe and the cooking process to try and achieve perfection, and I really think I did it! Happy New Year my fellow MOP readers, I wish you the best, especially a lot of fun in games and MMOs.
