As promised, Warframe’s massive Whispers in the Walls update is live today, free for everyone regardless of platform. “The Update takes players soaring back to the desolate planet Deimos to investigate a subterranean laboratory left behind by the great Albrecht Entrati where clues to resolving fragments of the past lie deep within its unknown chamber,” Digital Extremes says.
It also allows (some) players to merge accounts through the cross-platform save system; introduces the 55th ‘frame, Qorvex; adds the Alchemy and Netracells mission types; and reveals the Sanctum Anatomica hub. Players should stay tuned for next week’s secondary launch too, as on December 18th, they can dip into what DE calls its biggest and first cross-platform clan operation, dubbed Gargoyle’s Cry.
“Contain the corrupt power of the Void as 55th Warframe, Qorvex. Embody a brutalist frame built from multi-layered concrete to keep deadly radiation damage contained. Manifest a liminal hallway trap and bring its weighty walls crashing into a line of enemies. Construct fusion reactor pillars with damaging pulses that can quicken with kinetic strikes and release pent up radiation in a devastating, blistering unibeam to finish off the strongest of foes.”
MOP’s Warframe of Mind columnist MJ peeked at the patch and chatted with the devs ahead of launch – don’t miss her preview!
An update on Cross Platform Save:
Internal staff testing has revealed new issues we need to address before we can guarantee stability with more players. Please stay tuned for more updates tomorrow on our next "drip gate" steps. https://t.co/iNYynYjNEb
