In the annals of unpleasant last-minute surprises for MMO launches, this one may take the cake. Yesterday we reported that the originally NFT-infested Kritika Global just had shut down to make way for the launch of Kritika Zero, the latest iteration of this why-won’t-you-die-already game.
But now just mere hours before the Steam launch would’ve happened, developer Valofe pulled it from Valve’s platform to make Kritika Zero exclusive to its website. As MMO Fallout noted, this will keep users from seeing how popular (or not) the title is with Steam’s public numbers.
“In our commitment to delivering the best gaming experience, we’ve decided to explore new avenues and provide players with even more options to dive into the world of Kritika Zero,” the studio said. “Our team has been working tirelessly to bring you a seamless and immersive experience, and we’re excited to announce that the game will be officially available on VFUN platform only starting January 25th, 2024.”
Remember kids, with corporate doublespeak, “even more options” means “even fewer options.”
