The Daily Grind: What’s your current backup MMORPG?

City of Heroes - Bree

I’m really enjoying what I’m considering my second wind in MMORPGs, fam. I had a rough spot in the mid-teens after the original Star Wars Galaxies and City of Heroes games shut down, compounded by a cross-country move and the founding of a new company to do *gestures* all this. I played, but not nearly as much as I’d played before, and definitely not with the heart and soul. As I’ve found new MMOs – and rediscovered SWG Legends and then Homecoming – the last six or so years of MMOs have been really happy for me. I have a nice big bin of MMOs I really enjoy playing, so no big deal if Homecoming is offline because I have a bunch of backups that I don’t even really consider backups. And it helps that only one of my current five MMOs needs a sub. I can keep them all on a long rotation.

Tell me about your fall-back MMOs, the MMOs you play when you need a change or your main game is patching up or just annoying you. What’s your current backup MMORPG?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
