Nightingale rolls back last week’s patch after nasty bug deleted players’ housing

Losing a home in an MMO hurts like hell, as our readers can attest, and unfortunately, that’s what’s been happening to Nightingale testers this weekend. On Saturday, Players across Steam, Reddit, and Discord began reporting that their realms had vanished when they left and returned.

“We understand that some players have reported losing their Respite Realms in the last 24 hours,” Inflexion told players on Discord last night. “In an abundance of caution, we have rolled back yesterday’s patch and are investigating further. This may mean that issues with falling in The Watch may occur again.”

The studio was asking players to report the details of their loss here. Of course, this is an early access, so rollbacks and bugs – even big ones – are to be expected, but that doesn’t mean it’s fun when they happen. At least in this case, it’s mostly an annoyance, as Inflexion reassured players on Reddit.

“Hey all! Thanks for your patience with this issue that has hit a lot of you. The team is working hard to address this as we speak. For those of you wondering if this will affect your player progress, don’t worry. This bug does not seem to have touched player states only world state. If you fill out the form to restore your Abeyance Realm, this will only restore the world state and your base and won’t affect your player progress. Once the team has restored your world state, you will get a confirmation. Best would be not to go into this save until you hear from us that it has been restored.”
