With Update 39 and the Spring Festival pushed to the servers this past week and a meetup at PAX East happening in the coming week, Lord of the Rings Online’s team undoubtedly is very busy these days. Even so, Allan “Orion” Maki took to the forums to answer several questions from the community on various pressing topics.
Maki said that, to his knowledge, there are no server merges or free transfers off low-pop worlds coming in the near future. He ducked the question on account-wide virtues, saying that “there are ideas [SSG has] discussed though nothing concrete,” and said that the team also talked about doing something more substantial with the instance finder (although “there are no current plans to address or adjust this.”
Perhaps the most interesting reply — addressing level bloat — involves a hint as to what’s coming later this year:
“We think the bigger problem than the 150 levels is the inability for higher-level players to aid lower-level players without trivializing the content. If you look back to the roadmap we posted earlier this year, you will see a note about Kinships. Without getting into too much details, because there is not enough to share right now, this is the timeline where we are looking to address some of those concerns.”
