Were you among those who found the combat in Throne & Liberty’s ongoing open beta to be a bit blasé? Then perhaps you’ll want to pay attention to what’s coming out of the Korean version of the game, which will feature an all-new skill system update that’s reportedly coming to the global version when it launches in September.

The so-called Leap Update, which will arrive to T&L KR on July 24th, brings with it previously showcased features like a multi-level challenge dungeon, new life skills, a boost server, and the skill specialization system that lets players customize the abilities of their favorite weapons.

It’s that skill system that was one portion of a recent TL Live broadcast and was broken down in a separate video by YouTuber Whelps: This new specialization system, which opens at level 30, works similarly to the one found in Lost Ark, except players will be able to spend a total of 100 points on multiple augmentations to the abilities found for each weapon.

These skill specs completely change the behavior of weapon skills, adding additional effects like wider AoEs, new debuffs, allowing movement for previously rooted skills, or increasing channeling time to unleash higher damage. The update is also adding one new skill to each weapon for a total of 12 abilities for each weapon.

According to Whelps, this skill system will be making its way to western audiences when T&L makes its September 17th launch, though we were unable to officially confirm the news directly ourselves. In any case, the video previews below show off what’s possible in the MMORPG’s future.
