PvP sandbox MMORPG Profane previews new gameplay ahead of 2026’s large scale test

Last time we heard anything major out of the in-development PvP sandbox MMO Profane, it was word that future closed tests would be without any NDA attached, though we were left wondering when those next tests would be. Insane Studios has elected to sorta-kinda answer that question, as well as show off some of its next updates, in a new gameplay trailer.

The footage grants a look at several new activities and features, including ship sailing, an expanded world with additional new regions, some new weapons and skills (one of them appears to let players summon ghosts who dance in a circle with giant swords), and some new encounters and challenges, including what appears to be a tiny bit of PvE delving. There are, of course, plenty of other previous gameplay features shown off as well, including gathering, crafting, and base building.

According to a presser from the developer, Profane is headed for its next large scale test sometime in January or February of 2026, with more firm details promised soon. Interested players are encouraged to join the game’s Discord to participate, while the video of gameplay as it stands awaits below.
