Here are two things that Past Fate did over the past week: apologized for the rough launch while making immediate improvements and then resetting player levels altogether. Here is a new nickname I came up with for Past Fate because I was tired of making the typo “Paste Fat”: Pasty McFasty, The Fatest Paste in the Waste. Here are some words that rhyme with floor: door, chore, tour, more, score, roar. Does any of those items have anything to do with one another? No. Segues are hard sometimes.
Meanwhile, Hytale has officially high-tailed its way into early access for anyone who’s eager for voxels. Chrono Odyssey has answered questions for anyone who’s eager to know more about the forthcoming game, however messy it may seem to be at the moment, and Darkfall: Rise of Agon does indeed appear to be rising once more for anyone who was hoping that would happen? Apparently some people were!
And now we bid you farewell for another week, but not before offering folks a list of games in testing down below our roundup of the week’s beta news. Notice something missing or a game that’s slipped into a new test phase without our noticing? Let us know down in the comments!

We consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s often under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed, nor will games that are NFT/blockchain scams; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions. Finally, we’ll mark games “malingering” if they’ve been in a certain tier of development for a long time with no clear path to launch.

Yes, MMO gamers, you too can perform the unpaid quality-control work otherwise known as game testing! Check out Massively Overpowered’s Betawatch every week for a run-down of MMOs that are still on the road to launch, even if they appear to have set up a permanent residence in a shed called early access.
