World of Warcraft’s Patch 7.2 is coming next week

The hour is nearly upon us and we, we are not prepared. But we are pretty eager! This afternoon, World of Warcraft announced that Patch 7.2: The Tomb of Sargeras will be launching next Tuesday, March 28th.

This comes after a flurry of testing and dev diaries covering the patch’s big features. Among these features are the new Broken Shore zone, the Cathedral of Eternal Night dungeon, challenge artifact skins, rebalanced legendaries, new traits, more order hall research options, and of course, a way to regain our flight privileges in this expansion cycle.

What isn’t coming next week, however, is the titular Tomb of Sargeras raid, which will open at a later (unspecified) date. PvP season two is set to end on the 28th, with season three starting up right after. Check out the patch trailer after the break!

Im starting to give up on Wow and blizzard. The ridiculous requirements for flying is just stupid. After the first time going through everything I don’t want to waste my time on everything again on another toon. I want to get on my flying mount and just get to what I need to do. I hate the stun dismounts on the land mounts and im just getting sick to death of arrogant developers trying to tell me what’s fun? I decide what’s fun and what I choose to do not some nitwit designer that thinks I should be in awe of his own vision. Whatever happened to companies catering to the needs and wants of the customers? What is wrong with these people? Im not saying that they should not put time sinks into the game for people but they should all me optional and not tied into basic features of the game like flying. I decide whats fun not them. Im getting to the point where I think they should think about shutting down the game to preserve its legacy, the new developers are tainting what I used to like about this game.

Is this the patch some people were predicting would be released in June to coincide with the release of expansions for ESO and FF14 ?

Yes, yes it is.

Looks fine to me. 7.2 at the end of March with 7.2.5 following sometimes in June. 7.3 following as the last big patch in autumn with maybe one or two smaller patches to fill the gap between the next expansion. I’m still pretty sure they’re going to announce the next expansion this year at Blizzcon (following the announcment of shorter release cycles).

WoWs story is the only one in MMO thats really interested me but I burned out on it long ago and couldn’t justify a subscription anymore when all I did was Alterac Valley but trailers like this make me wish I was still playing. Is Legion still a $40 expac I’d have to buy(oh and I dont have Warlords either)?

In what is absolutely not a coincidence, Blizzard recently announced:

save 25% on select character services during our sale March 23–April 4, 2017.
Save $10 on World of Warcraft:Legion Standard or Digital Deluxe Edition.*

*Offer applies to digital version purchased through Blizzard. Some stores are also offering similar promotions—check with your favorite local retailer.

As of April 5, many WoW EU+UK services will be more expensive. This is the last sale before the price bump. It also gives them enough time to report the extra sales in their next quarterly results call in May.

I’ve gotta say the content release schedule for this expansion has been very good. Content aside, it’s nice I can log in every few months and do something new!

Man gotta love their trailers. Wow just keeps going.

So those haters from earlier this week… don’t bother apologizing just go ahead and stay quiet :)

To repost what I said in the other stupid article about 7.2, June!?! LOL Nope!

I wasn’t hating I just mistakenly took that editorial as fact, I was hating the possibility of lengthy content drought as any typical MMO player would,

So much for your june prediction to steal some attention from the Eso Xpac, right MOP-team?

I’m not the first to say this, and this isn’t even the first time I’ve said it, but Blizzard’s story and trailer teams would do amazing things as a pure animation studio.

Kinda sums up how my pigtails feels about this patch and release announcement. That is, a few things to look forward to, while others are meh and the rest looks like a pain in the ass.

Everywhere else I kept hearing people say they were CERTAIN Blizzard was going to wait a couple more months in order to try to crash another company’s patch/xpac launch. So much for that idea, huh?

Not that i’m giving Blizzard credit for being altruistic – i just don’t think they can keep their own timelines half the time, let alone trying to release something based on TWO different companies.

Looking forward to it – i just finished Nighthold in my guild and excited to see new content; they’re setting a great pace, and all they have to do is keep it going.

They are still keeping the raid in their pockets. Maybe they are making tweaks, maybe they just barely started working on it…or maybe, just maybe, waiting for the right moment to pull as many players back in as possible.

They are holding off on the raid since Nighthold just released 2 months ago. Though they still have done testing on the bosses.

Patch 3.56, the final story patch for that other game…

Is also landing Tuesday, and we’ve known that was one of the likely dates for a couple months now.

I don’t care if it’s truly coincidence or not…but it’s still getting added to the list, lol.

I’d expect 7.2.5 and Tombs opening to line up with Stormblood.

Seems a little quick, eh? Legion was only released 8 months ago and they’re already on 7.2 (with only 1 large patch – 7.3 – to go). Didn’t they promise no content drought at the end of the xpac? Because this is really how you make sure you have a content drought at the end of an xpac.

My guess is that they are bleeding away whatever subs they got from the new expansion and they are in panic mode.

Technically, they never said that 7.3 would be the last patch – they said 7.3 we would go to Argus; people just assumed that was the end because of the implications.

But they can do a lot even with that – 7.3.1, 7.3.2, etc. These can contain quite a bit, as we’ve seen from 7.1.5. We don’t really know how much content they have planned.
