Mortal Online opens the doors to Sarducaa

If you are a Mortal Online player, you were probably in heaven this past weekend, as the game patched in a whole new continent full of content.

Patch 1.82 introduced the lands of Sarducaa, a desert-themed realm teeming with dangerous creatures, dark dungeons, and all sorts of treasure. It also arrived with an important caveat from Star Vault: “Sarducaa comes with a few brand new complex systems like combat group AI, world loot items, and the heat system that affects both players, armors, and their mounts. So please bare [sic] in mind that these are all new systems and they may be changed/tweaked at anytime if needed.”

You can read up on the patch notes right now and check out the Sarducaa trailer after the break!

McSleaz MO can be a gank fest…it all depends on where you “hang out”.  The starter city Tindrem is surrounded by gomers with little else to do besides hunt new players.  I’d recommend starting in a different location.  I did start in Tindrem and had a great time once I got away from the area.  The F2P or trial of MO is pretty generous.  You can level your skills to 60 (at least I think it’s  60) before you’ll need to sub to raise your skills.  You can do a lot in the F2P…tame a few animals, including horses which you can sell and make a bit of gold.

McSleaz Have played it on and off many times since launch and its getting better and better.. sadly at the moment I dont have the spare time to put into an MMORPG.

If you like full loot pvp based mmos then this is worth trying out. Its as hardcore as they get.. it gets very dark at night to the point you need to use a torch or up the gamma on your monitor haha..also there is no in game map, people can kill you and take all of your stuff but you can also kill them and take their stuff.. this cant really be done in the NPC towns as guards patrol the streets.
It had a very bad launch and mmorpgs never really recover from a bad launch so when ever you see posts about the game it usually gets filled up with people crying who never actually played the game but read about the launch and how bad it was.. a few people who did try it out never got past the first few hours of the game so again cry about how baf it is..
It does not take long to max a character out in whatever type of character you want to make, you cant be a master of everything you need to choose what you want to do as a character and follow that path. you are free to drop skills and train up in something else if you like but there is a soft cap.
This game is really meant to be played with others so best to join a guild that helps out new comers, that way you will be able to be part of a community. They will help you and you will help them.
Once you get past the first few hours the game opens up and becomes pretty good and if like I said above you join a guild the PVP can be great fun. This recent patch has also uppaed the A.I. of the NPCs quite a bit and they have added dungeons and so on..
Still this is a very small company running this game so there are still some bugs here and there and the game is not as smooth as one released by a AAA company.

MO runs a free to play option that limits your skills to 60 or something but it will let you play the game and figure out if you like it enough to sub.

This will probably lead to a reinstall.

It was once fairly enjoyable for the sole purpose that it was very different from other games. (First person view for example, which I had always wanted in a mmo)

Sadly as others have stated, it’s about as unpolished as mmos come these days. If you do play it, prepare yourself for the mindset of playing a late alpha/early beta game.

Instead of adding a new continent they could have used those resources to polish the game. Right now it suffers from very poor netcode, terrible animations, and just about any other issue you can associate with a low budget game.

FarmerJoe DeviateFish McSleaz Thank you for the reply. Even if you are biased, it’s always good to hear from the devs. I’ll install it right away, give it a whirl.

DeviateFish McSleaz Dev here so incredibly biased.
Yupp, it was indeed a buggy game without a tutorial back in the day.
But we have spent so much time on getting that sorted and we did indeed add a tutorial!
Still we are a very small team so it’s not as polished, not even close, to a AAA MMO made by a large studio.
So ya you do have to invest a lot of time into it and it’s not for everyone.
Some people simply hate it but for some it’s the most amazing thing ever and they can not go back to a more classic MMO.
Since it’s F2P anyone can now try it out so please do!
