Do you like ARK: Survival Evolved? Do you like modding? If you answered yes, I’ve got good news in the form of the ARK’s newly launched dev kit. It’s basically a streamlined version of the Unreal Engine 4 editor, and Studio Wildcard says that it can be used to make mods and maps, which can then be uploaded to Steam’s Workshop for use by the ARK community.

The firm has released a tutorial, and co-creative director Jessie Rapczak tells Gamasutra that the dev kit will enable everything from custom modes to new creatures to new items. Studio Wildcard also intends to make its internal documentation available to modders.

ARK has sold over a million copies since its early access client debuted on June 2nd.
