Trove’s Chloromancer takes root next week

Announced earlier this week, Trove’s new Chloromancer class draws inspiration from the RIFT class of the same name, and now we have a better understanding of just how the archetype will play.

In a post capped off with Poison lyrics (what, go look), Trion Worlds has outlined the Chloromancer’s skills. Expect emergency shields, turret-like plant pets, a lobbed heal-and-boom combo, and a classic plant-themed AoE slow. Hooray for crowd control!

Chlorophylled to the max with flower power, this leafy legionnaire brings Trove healing to a whole new level. Don’t think of this gluten free guardian as a one trick poinsettia, because the Chloromancer also brings nature’s brute force to the table.

The new class launches on Tuesday. Massively OP recently named Trove its most underrated MMO of 2015.

I know it is the ultimate form of cross-game corporate synergy/marketing but I am such a sucker for this kind of stuff. I enjoy that you will get stuff in Rift for playing Trove as well (a mount and a cloak skin it seems). In this case I was already in the ecosystem anyway though, have played Rift on and off for a year and a half now and got into Trove recently as I was looking for an extremely casual MMO. Good stuff too since Trove has hooked me in a way I wasn’t expecting, it’s basically everything I wish Minecraft had become but never did. Already put in like 40 hours this week alone.

Esoteric Coyote You can give your revenant a head, you just have to visit the barbershop table.
I hope your hubby is going to be okay. Poor guy :(

I have a shiny class coin just for this spec.  I’ve been hoarding it, but after the news of this class, I logged in and ran around on a revenant for a bit.  I had the following conversation with hubby.  Me: “Huh, it doesn’t have a head, I just have a floating hat and a tiny mask… looks funny”  Hubby: “That’s neat.”  and an hour later Hubby:”Where my head?  My character in trove is missing my head.” Me: “I told you!  Revenant doesn’t have a head!”  Hubby: “Oh… I thought you weren’t serious…”  In his defense he’s very ill and on a massive amount of medications, he can’t even drink at the company Christmas party, if he’s even well enough to go.

Find me a class in Rift called Chloromancer. There are 5 callings (the closest thing you’ll see to a class) each with a certain number of souls.  One of the mage souls is Chloromancer. Took me 20 seconds to research that.

Unless the Chloromancer in RIFT was changed heavily, that doesn’t really sound Chloromancer-ish.  Chloromancer in RIFT was all about DoTs and channeled spells to heal people and then the occasional insta-cast procs.  And the whole idea was that you were healing party/raid members with damage.

Sounds like a pretty interesting class though with some cool mechanics.  And I guess there is a healing element there, just not in the same style that RIFT’s Chloro did it.
