The Division’s skills trailer might make your beta wait easier

It's a mess out there.

Are you in Division withdrawal, as one YouTuber put it, while you wait for the rumored open beta later this month? Maybe this new trailer will tide you over. It details the types of combat and utility skills and abilities players will have access to while playing, and it’s loaded with in-game footage that shows how damn pretty the game is.

The game is expected to open the beta for more players on February 16th to 21st. Enjoy!

Quincha deekay_zero PizzaDoh tehre are special ammo types. consumables. there are grenades that obscure vision. there are shields with pistols. there are no knives in teh game from what we’ve seen so far. perhaps there is later. but we have not seen them yet, and players do not have melee dps options (there is a push back mechanic for players in melee).

again, it’s niether boring or lazy. the above examples you give would be more boring and lazy, as they are all pretty much typical cliches found in nearly every single shooter made since the late 90s originating in counterstrike if not prior.

but yet you pick, of all things, a friend or foe indicator with buffs attached to nitpick on, as being boring and lazy?

that’s frankly bizarre.

and quite honestly, none of these things are worth qqing about here or there. either the novel fusion of rpg with (cover third person) shooter which has seen more entries since borderlands and mass effect, or the use of established tropes in those base genres, or truly novely and innovative creative mechanics like this fof pulse + buff ability.

just about the limits of the qq to have about this game, the valid concerns to voice, is the vagueness of season pass exclusives and questions of how they will handle cheaters primarily in teh pvp portion of the game.

beyond that, the game is demonstrated in teh wild to be solid, fun and good looking with a solid performing client, outside of some known issues that are openly disclosed.

the friend or foe pulse is not on that list. and it’s beyond silly to so aggressively pursue qq about it as in this demonstration which again, is just down right bizarre to the extreme. espcially in teh context of this and other genres and their established tropes which they are innundated in some cases to a self destructive fault.

and yet here we are for days now arguing about… an actually legitimately novel and creative piece of deisgn and implementation game mechanic rarely if ever seen in any of the genres this game is part of?

none of which relates to this game. nor is really anything that makes sense in the context of this game for the most part. nor really backs up in a reasonable manner teh position that friend or foe tagging scanner combined with buffs is some how lazy design by comparison to even the things you suggest are some how more complicated, and largely don’t relate to the game at all.

it’s just so utterly arbitrary along with the rest of your criticisms of the game that seem so strange. and are alone to you yourself. i’ve seen all kinds of qq about this game from lack of prone and crouch to darkzone mechanics and so on, but these are just out of left field in the most arbitrary manner it’s just weird.

that you can’t even consider the meta involved with using such an ability shows a limited understanding of tactics and strategy. both pve and pvp wise. that you think it’s lazy design shows an i don’t even know how to phrase how bizarre and weird that is to consider.

in any case, it’s neither lazy nor boring at all, regardless of your ranting about it. lazy, as i already stated previously, would be marking all npcs as friend or foe at a glance without considering such an ability being a choice to make as part of your kit and comp. and i have yet to see you, and doubt i ever will, see you qq about red/green/yellow floating nameplates that inundate the mmo genre or clearly defined avatar models by team that make up most shooters. or if it moves shoot it of other rpg shooters.

If I judged my willingness to play this based on previous reviews and headlines I would have missed an awesome game. All I heard was people bitching about this game… Well I too now have division withdraw!!
