Despite assurances to the contrary almost exactly one year ago, Landmark will experience two more character wipes on top of expected claim wipes. The first wipe is coming this month with the big pre-launch update that changes claims, and the other will be right before launch. Daybreak has posted an FAQ to answer players questions on the topic, such as keeping names (yes, as long as you’ve logged in since this January), keeping guild names (no), templates (will be saved), and Marketplace reimbursements (will go only to first character created on the account). Additionally, after the wipe, all newly created characters will start on a Pioneer Landscape.
The post also introduced a new in-game currency of sorts, which will be used to reimburse players for certain purchased Marketplace items. Called Lumens, these are similar to the Ether Shards that have been discontinued. Players will also gain Lumes during gameplay, and Lumens can be used to create various items at special Lumen Stations including resource bundles, outfits, recipes for props, and more. All items only on the Marketplace — such as base claims and Player Studio templates — will be restored. For more details, head to the official forums.
