Having more healing options is always nice if you prefer “staying alive” to “dying,” so RIFT is adding another healer in the form of the Frostkeeper soul for Mages. Yes, it’s another soul preview as part of the upcoming batch, and this one is all about keeping the tank up and running through anything. Channeling the power of ice allows the Frostkeeper to create powerful barriers around allies as well as creating healing ice slicks to bolster allies and slow enemies.
In desperate situations, Frostkeepers can also channel Eternal Preservation to keep a target up through otherwise lethal damage. There’s also some fiction included if you’d like a narrative peek at what Frostkeepers are capable of doing. The soul will be arriving with patch 3.6, so if you love playing a mage with a healing bent, get ready to keep it cool.
