Survival sandbox The Skies patches in a safezone for newbies

Yesterday’s The Skies patch is a big one for folks in the closed early access test, especially if you’re the sort of person who plays a survival sandbox but wants to take a breather from time to time. “Long story short, we’ve added a Player versus Environment safezone around Kimary covering ~25% of the location,” says EFORB. “Zone allows taking damage from mobs, but not from players. Its boundaries are marked on [the] minimap.”

“Due to demand of safer life for Waste’s newcomers, new law has been introduced around Kimary. No player killing in city surroundings is allowed, and all citizens and guests get a free map with safety zone marked. Do not expect ‘cease fire’ or ‘cease fangs’ from raiders or dogs – Kimary mayor has no authority on them. Die-hard warriors still can test their luck and steady aim when going deeper into wasteland. Flag capturing is still a bloody business.”

The patch also fixed a number of bugs, balanced newbie loot, and added repair functionality to some NPCs. MOP’s MJ has scoped out the game; watch her early experiences below.
