The Daily Grind: Is there an MMORPG whose charms you’ve managed to escape?

Traditionally, Blizzard has but to crook a finger and my whole guild, including me, will flock back to play World of Warcraft’s new thing. But this time? I haven’t gone back. My friends are regaling me with stories of the invasions and how they’re racking up 40 levels in a day on their alts… but I haven’t felt tempted, mainly because I still remember how Draenor’s disappointment tasted. Even our writers here — including Larry, who’s never even played WoW! — are playing, and I’m still holding out.

Which probably means I’ll get the urge to jump in right about the time everyone else is bored.

There have been other MMOs that have had little to no effect on me. The EverQuest followups originally did nothing for me, for example, and I’ve never felt the pull of the Final Fantasy series whatsoever.

How about you? Is there an MMORPG whose charms you’ve managed to escape?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
