Paragon introduces K-pop-themed Shinbi hero

Epic’s MOBA Paragon revealed a new playable hero this week: Shinbi, a K-pop themed melee superstar who’s possibly a reference to pop star ShinB from GFRIEND, which incidentally hit MMO news this week once already thanks to its Valentine promo for Elsword. My apophenia, ahhhh!

“A world famous pop star known for summoning Spirit Wolves during her performances, Shinbi is a deceptive melee assassin who uses her wolves to dazzle her enemies and rip them to shreds in battle,” says Epic, rattling off her themey skills: Rushing Beat, Line Tempo, Circle Rhythm, and All-Kill!. She officially launches February 21st.

Kotaku has a grand roundup of some of the criticisms of the character already, which basically boil down to melee sucks, why more girls though, what’s K-pop, D.Va clone, and this is totally breaking my immersions in world lore we don’t know anything about. So, you know. The usual.
