Elder Scrolls Online player shares her cosplay secrets

The face of Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind is the Dunmer Naryu, who has featured prominently in more than one promotion of the expansion. One cosplayer named Valara Atran has taken it upon herself to transform into Naryu and share her thoughts about the outfit and props on the official site.

The 19-year-old said that her Naryu getup is the fifth Elder Scrolls outfit she has made from scratch and took her about a month, start to finish, to make from EVA foam. The most difficult part of the process? Sewing, something that she admits she struggles with.

“For myself, cosplay is not only about making costumes: it is about revealing a world of miracles that we (cosplayers) capture through our creations,” she said. “As a cosplayer, you must immerse yourself in the character like an actor might to truly become them. Being Naryu Virian just feels right to me. It’s as if the only thing left for the transformation to be complete is makeup and a suit.”
