Snail’s mobile MMO Blade Reborn plans global launch on March 27

Here’s another one we’ve never heard of: Blade Reborn. It’s a Snail Games mobile game, and the studio is calling it a full-fledged action MMORPG, though maybe OARPG would be more accurate.

Blade Reborn gives players a whole new game experience of dungeon explorations with Action features, in-combat weapon switching mechanics and tons of unique PVP modes. Players have found out the deepest secret in the dungeon with the choice of 3 distinct warring classes: The Fast-immortal wizard, the incomparable warrior, the Silent fatal assassin, each of those class wields 2 weapons with 4 unique skills, which empowers them to attack with destructive combos. Furthermore, there are up to 64 skill talents can be used to create a unique build for the character.”

Apparently, today’s launch is being touted as a soft-launch for Australia and Northern Europe following a Russian and Brazilian beta that’s just concluded. The company’s Facebook says the global release is set for March 27th.

So this really is just a soft launch for Europe and Australia. If you side load the game, there are only servers for Europe and Australia, so you aren’t going to be way behind if you wait to play during the Global release later. The North American servers aren’t there yet thankfully so unlike a huge amount of soft launches you don’t lose out by waiting for the official launch later.

100% of stuff Snail has released so far on Mobile has been Pay to Win (*real* pay to win too, not the piddling nothing people usually call pay to win. This is the type where you pay $500 to beat the free players, and someone spends $1,000 to beat you, then you spend $1,500 to become the new Queen for a day until they spend $2,000 to own you, on and on without end).

They’re fun games and pretty good quality for mobile, but usually that unique and fun content runs out fast and then it’s all about PvP which is pay to win.

I can’t say if this is the same, since there is no NA server yet I’ll be waiting to play until later, but it is a safe bet that it is.

Another mobile OARPG that I’d probably play if they just put some money into their translation. Such a big turnoff.
