Radical Heights teases female characters and jumping through windows

There’s still plenty of stuff going on in the development of Radical Heights, and Cliff Bleszinski is showing it off on Twitter. What sort of stuff? Well… women, for one. Yes, playable ladies are on deck, and a preview image shows them in all of their shoulder-padded leg-warmed glory. Why there are shoulderpads on a workout outfit is a mystery for the ages.

The team is also working on allowing players to dive through windows, which looks very dramatic and would tend to result in a face full of glass if attempted in real life. There’s also a tip reminding players to take on the “Special Delivery” bike matches for powerful armor, so if you’re one of the players fighting it out in the game, take that under advisement. Also, please do not attempt to jump through any windows in real life. It’s going to hurt and you shouldn’t do it.

According to Steamcharts population is already dropping, I bet by a month there will be barely 800 people playing it.

Hard to compete with PUBG and Fortnite. It will probably be niche.

It’s an 80s retro-game setting.

I get that. The Cure was also 80’s. Just saying.

The outfits definitely do remind me of 80’s dance videos…

So…the small gameplay i just say is a mix of Fortnite’s colors, Pubg graphics, terrible optimization of both and the charm of neither?

You forgot to say that it’s in early access.

I don’t pay enough attention to this shitshow.

But you probably spend enough attention bashing games you’ve never tried right? Seems to be the norm these days.

Early Access means nothing nowadays. Every game that the developers know it’s garbage is released under Early Access that they can use as an excuse to still earn money from it while they keep working on it or don’t work on it.

And only the fanboys of the game are gullible enough to believe this crap and when triggered start screeching “But, but but… it’s Early Access, it’s Early Access!!!”

There is a game on Steam that I like a lot (or at least a little) – Black Squad – a Korean F2P FPS game that’s been out in Korea, Japan and Indonesia for a few years now and officially released as well. But the Western version that’s on Steam is still in Early Access, I like the game, but I don’t buy that shit, it’s just an excuse by the developers/publishers to take their time and do whatever.

I disagree. I’ve seen a lot of games get better during early access. Nonetheless, I won’t ever put money into an early access title. I’d rather see it at release first, then decide to put money into it.

A lot may improve, but just as many stay the same, this is reason enough for me to believe that Early Access is just an excuse for most.

When your product can’t stand on it’s own, use sex to sell it. But what if the sex you use to sell the product only reminds your prime demographic of when you found those old photos of your mom your dad used to keep in the closet?

You… do realize that this is a whole 80’s action homage, right?

Did you hear that sound? It was the point whizzing past your head. Besides, a sub-niche of the 80s that was around for only a couple short years during the 80s… does not an 80s theme make.

You know, I have these beans that grow a magical vine to Cliffy B’s world. If you climb it, you can hear Cliffy: “Fe Fi Fo Fum look at the unique passion shit I’ve done”

Guys, what if this game actually isn’t a battle royale game? What if this is some super esoteric piece of performance art that’s meant to illuminate how the gaming landscape has changed? What if the REAL game is actually hidden somewhere, that it’s not actually a battle royale but a new form of single player game that starts as a multiplayer?

I’m just finding it extremely hard to believe that this game is so cynically built, there must be some kind of grand message behind it you know? The cynicism is so in your face too, the 80s nostalgia, the battle royale, the colors, all these are meant to hit a chord.

This could easily be the Doki Doki of Battle Royale
