If you’re not feeling depressed enough about beloved MMOs this week with WildStar facing the firing squad, you can always relive the City of Heroes shutdown. Yep, veterans of the original City of Heroes are invited to gather in Paragon Chat on Friday for a vigil commemorating the loss of the game six years ago.
“Come join us on the steps of Atlas Park City Hall. HERC will have volunteers present at various times of the day to share stories, remember those who aren’t with us anymore, and hold a light for City of Heroes. Come as you are, leave when you want to. As with prior years, this isn’t an activity, just a vigil. There will be no contests or games planned by us.”
As we’ve previously covered, Paragon Chat is a non-combat emulator accessible by anyone, even if you never played the original game; it features maps, travel, chat, costumes, and bases. Bring your boombox, a mug of cocoa, and your protest signs.
Shutdown Vigil: November 30th, 2018, all day in Paragon Chat. No contests or games planned. Just a get-together to share stories, remember those that aren't with us anymore, and light a torch for CoH.https://t.co/vV0gc6u364 pic.twitter.com/x95KUc6xM1
