Remember how H1Z1 branded itself as Z1 Battle Royale because at this point the game has changed names more often than most people change socks? In addition to getting a new name, the game’s PC version is also getting a new community manager, as the game’s Twitter account has announced Jason Burns as the new community manager for the game. Hooray for community management!
Mr. Burns (which is the best possible way to address him) will be inheriting the community management after the game’s professional league has been declared quite decisively dead by ESPN and in the wake of Jace Hall’s own statements that the game is not doing all that well but the aforementioned league is not dead. This is either exactly the sort of challenge a community manager craves or a nightmare of management to walk into on your first day.
Excited to announce Jason @sup3rson1k Burns has joined the Z1 team at NantG! We had many great applicants from the community, but ultimately Jason's experience with the Z1 community, hosting/casting and content creation make him the perfect fit. Please welcome him to the team! https://t.co/fJsDfZxBRf
