The day we never thought would arrive has arrived. DayZ has actually launched version 1.0. It has launched. It’s actually arrived at launch. No one is quite sure what to do at this point, but once we finish up with the Porcine Aviation League that has just been founded, we’re sure that we’ll come to some sort of conclusion. Steam charts has noted the game doing better over the last month than it has for the past six or so year it’s been in early access.

Until then, you can actually download and try the game absolutely for free; it’s offering a free download-and-play through December 17th, for anyone who longs to see how the game’s finished version feels without buying in. It’s also on sale for 15% off the Early Access price through the 17th, at which point it will be bumped up to its launch price of $45. The game is also slated for Xbox and PlayStation 4 release in 2019. Now to do something about that freeze taking place in the realm of the sinful dead.
