The latest update for Gaijin Entertainment’s free-to-play vehicular combat game War Thunder is breaking the sound barrier with the introduction of the game’s first supersonic aircraft, which is also accompanied by “Italian ground forces, guided air-to-air missiles, new ships, ground vehicles and aircraft, and much more.” The stars of the update are the new supersonic jets, the MiG-19PT, the Javelin Mk. 9, and the F-100D, all of which come equipped with the brand-new thermal-guided air-to-air missiles.
The update also introduces three new Italian tanks — the OF-40 Mk. 2A, the OTOMATIC, and the B1 Centauro — meaning that all of the nations represented in War Thunder now have their own ground forces branches. In addition, there are now four new locations in which players can do battle: the Fuego Islands, the Vietnam Hills, Afghanistan, and the festively decorated Christmas Hangar. On top of the new content, the update also brings a staggering number of tweaks and adjustments to existing vehicles and weaponry, the full details of which you can find in the patch notes over at the game’s official site.
