It’s been a bit of a rough start for Grapeshot Games’s open-world survival MMO Atlas since it launched late last month, and it’s clear that there are still plenty of kinks that need to be ironed out. Case in point, Reddit user takukuku recently stopped by the game’s subreddit to post a clip that shows a player using some kind of hack or exploit to fly around the map destroying instantly destroying structures — definitely not the kind of thing anyone wants to see in a game where even fairly basic buildings can require hours or days of effort to construct.
For what it’s worth, however, the streamer who witnessed the event in question did manage to catch a glimpse of the hacker’s player ID, which has allowed the devs to ban the offending player. Live Producer and Community Lead Jatheish replied to the Reddit post, saying, “we’ll be removing [the player] from our Official Network,” and he later took to Twitter to announce that the devs are in the process of removing hackers and investigating the vulnerabilities that allowed the hacks in the first place.
FYI. Looking into these cheaters, going to remove them from the network and patch the vulnerability. Heads down until we get this sorted – will be a little quiet from me whilst we work on this
