Elite: Dangerous prepares to move to new forums and announces a planetary expedition

The community of Elite: Dangerous is going to be pretty busy in the next few days. On the one hand, there are plans for a new in-game expedition event, while on the other hand there are some new forums to migrate to.

The folks at Frontier have provided a game plan for the forum migration. The forums will go down on Monday, March 25th, for about three days’ time. A number of existing forums like console-specific Off Topic forums and Factions forums will be taken offline, while several other forums will be merged in to new locations. The Bug Reports forum is also changing to be read-only, but players can still file bug reports through a new dedicated bug reporting site.

On the community event side of things, SRV pilots are preparing for a circumnavigation of the planet Kumay in the Chi Herculis system. The event is tentatively set to begin on Wednesday, March 27th, though the most recent post explains that date might be more nebulous. The expedition is suspected to take about a month to complete; those interested in finding out more should check out the event post for all the details and relevant links.
