WRUP: Frankly you all should be thanking me for the scope of problems I have caused edition

This took some work.

I understand that there are some people upset at the sheer scope of problems that my reckless actions have caused. However, I think that these people are wildly misunderstanding the amount of effort that went into causing these problems. These sorts of problems don’t just happen. Frankly, you should all be thanking me for the sheer volume of problems being spread into your lives now.

Like, this wasn’t careless. I took very thoughtful and intentional care in a set of actions which screwed things up to an astonishing degree. You might think that I was just being reckless, but I think my actions have made it clear that I really went all-in on causing a big damn mess with a focus and intensity. Now you get to tell me all about the effort you put into solving these problems in this week’s What Are You Playing, and that means you walk away with a sense of accomplishment. You’re welcome.

Bonus question: What’s your favorite vegetable?

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Pokemon Go and Let’s Go because I need to play something and I like when co-workers notice I’ve lost weight or bulked up. They don’t need to know that it’s because I run down the street to catch a raid or press the attack button with my nose while doing push-ups.

Do collared greens count? It doesn’t need to be cooked in pork fat to be good! I can eat it like kale (also good). Um… gee, spinach is awesome. And bok choy. OO, and gai lan (Chinese broccoli). Regular broccoli too. Wait, parsnips! Hmm… brussel sprouts? Wait, onions. Double wait! Garlic! Yes, garlic is my favorite vegetable. Man, this was harder than I thought.

Andy McAdams: I’ll probably also be playing that which must not be named in and among the MSQ in Final Fantasy XIV. I got my first job to 70 (Bard 4tw!) and finished the Stormblood launch content, so I’ll keep plugging away through the patch content while getting Scholar and Samurai to 70 in preparation for Shadowbringers.

Favorite Vegetable – oh man, that’s actually hard, I love veggies. It’s a multi-way tie between sugar snap peas, cucumbers, and broccoli.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): If I get time to play this weekend, it’ll be… a thing we shouldn’t be talking about playing but everyone’s playing it anyway. But most likely I won’t get time – family’s in town. We were meant to go camping, but the rain’s ensured it’ll be a Rock Band and pizza weekend instead.

Favorite vegetable… the inedible kind making my garden pretty. Does that count?

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): Hi. My name is Chris, otherwise known as Wolfy, and I’m an idiot. See, a long while ago, I deleted my old Final Fantasy XIV character with the idea of refreshing myself and my gameplay with an entirely new character and class. Distance, however, made the heart grow fonder and so I chugged a Fantasia to change from Elezen back to Roegadyn and boosted my level 70 Astrologian to a level 60 Dark Knight. Which is a long way of saying I’ve got a bunch of leveling up to do. Because, again, I am an idiot. Oh, and the Way of the Slayer update of Dauntless has absolutely got me chasing all the progression carrots, so that’ll definitely be something I’ll be doing. Basically, I’m chasing all the progression.

One of my favorite vegetables are Brussels sprouts, which wasn’t actually a thing until I learned the joy of oven roasting them and tossing them with some crispy bacon, olive oil, and garlic. Delicious.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Here’s a secret for you – I’ve basically finished most of my FFXIV expansion prep work already. With two months left until the expansion. I’ll find a way to fill in the rest of the time, but that means more time to spend on single-player games like seeing where my “that’s it, patience exhausted” threshold lies for Bloodborne and going back through more of my single-player backlog. Whee?

Honestly, my favorite vegetable on a whole is probably the noble potato, but that’s such a flexible starch I don’t really count it. Beyond that, I adore some good oven-roasted asparagus, but that’s not to disparage the noble Brussels sprout or the loveliness of peas. My wife loathes peas, so I rarely eat them these days.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I’m back from vacation and getting back into gaming, so my plans will probably be more scattershot. In addition to my mainstays of Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online, I might be poking into FFXIV and The Elder Scrolls Online for a bit as well as some Fallout 76. That last one’s actually starting to grow on me a bit — is there hope for it yet?

Mia DeSanzo (@neschria): I will be playing TESO with family members at some point. No other gaming plans have coalesced yet.

And I love asparagus almost as much as I love chocolate. (That’s a lot.)

Samon Kashani (@thesamkash): This weekend I plan to continue my return to Champions Online. Apparently I still have 10 levels to go before hitting the cap. Hopefully once there I’ll be able to get some arena fights going.

Favorite vegetable has got to be the broccoli. Although some extra crispy Brussels sprouts are always great.
